1. Information We Collect

   

We believe in data minimization. STL Viewer does not require user registration or account creation, and does not collect personally identifiable information (PII).

   

       
• No Personal Information: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical location, or contact list.
       
• No File Uploads: When you open an STL file (ASCII or binary), it is parsed and rendered entirely on your device's GPU/CPU using native OpenGL ES. Files are never uploaded to any remote server or cloud service.
   

     

2. Device Storage & File Access

   

To provide 3D model visualization and video export features, the app interacts with your local device storage strictly through secure Android system APIs:

   

       
• Opening STL Files: We use the standard Android Storage Access Framework (SAF) system file picker. The app only accesses the specific files you explicitly choose to open.
       
• MP4 Video & Image Export: When exporting 360° turntable videos or snapshots, files are generated locally via hardware video encoding (MediaCodec) and saved to your local storage or gallery (Movies/STLViewer).
   

     

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising

   

STL Viewer does not integrate third-party analytics trackers (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics) or targeted advertising SDKs that monitor your cross-app behavior.

     

4. App Permissions

   

STL Viewer requests only minimal system capabilities essential for application functionality:

   

       
• INTERNET (if applicable for external web documentation links): No background tracking or server communications are performed.
       
• Scoped Storage / MediaStore: Used exclusively to save user-exported MP4 videos and images to your public Movies directory upon your explicit request.
   

     

5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

   

Our application does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal data, STL Viewer is safe for users of all ages, including students, makers, and educators.

     

6. Security of Your CAD Files

   

All 3D model analysis, triangle mesh calculations, bounding box dimensions, and cross-section slicing occur strictly in-memory on your local hardware. Your intellectual property and proprietary 3D designs remain completely confidential and under your full control.

     

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

   

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements or app features. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Effective Date".
